About the role
- The Field CTO organization works across customer-facing and internal teams to help GitLab meet the needs of enterprise organizations with clarity, credibility, and deep technical insight.
- We are made up of senior technical leaders who spend much of our time in executive conversations with customers and prospects.
- Our work often focuses on long-term strategic outcomes rather than short sales cycles, which makes judgment, communication, and careful deployment especially important.
Responsibilities
- Deliver thought leadership on DevSecOps, AI for software development, security, compliance, and platform modernization through customer briefings, presentations, events, and written content.
- Partner with sales leadership, sales engineering, customer success, product, and marketing as a peer to align the Field CTO function with broader go-to-market priorities.
- Experience leading a senior, customer-facing technical team such as Field CTO, Principal Solutions Architect, Principal Sales Engineer, or Distinguished Engineer, with success developing senior individual contributors across regions and time zones.
Compensation
- The base salary range for this role's listed level is currently for residents of the United States only.
- This range is intended to reflect the role's base salary rate in locations throughout the US.
- Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.
