About the role
- This role is responsible for assisting with all phases of project management, from estimating and scheduling through construction, documentation, and project closeout.
Responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, schedules, and project logs.
- Support project estimating by performing quantity takeoffs and preparing cost estimates.
- Review shop drawings and construction documents for accuracy and coordination.
- Support project closeout activities to ensure timely completion.
- Prepare project reports and maintain accurate project records using construction management software.
- We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Civil to support the successful planning, execution, and completion of commercial and institutional construction projects.
- The ideal candidate has experience working for a commercial or civil general contractor, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality, safety, and schedule objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 2-3 years of experience working for a commercial, industrial, or civil general contractor
- Minimum of 5 years of directly related construction management experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with civil estimating and contracting for a civil general contractor or subcontractor.
- Experience managing subcontractors and/or self-performed construction work.
- Working knowledge of commercial and institutional construction methods and site development.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, email, and construction management software.
Nice to have
- Experience with IDIQ contracts.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current USACE/NAVFAC CQC certification.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Associate Constructor (AC) credential.
- A grace period of up to six months may be provided to obtain required certifications or professional credentials.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Compensation
- $73,000+ annually (higher based on experience)
