About the role
- The Miscellaneous Metals Shop Foreman is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and supporting daily fabrication activities in a miscellaneous metals shop.
- This role ensures fabrication work is completed safely, efficiently, accurately, and on schedule while maintaining quality standards and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily production meetings.
- Train, mentor, and support shop employees.
- Maintain accountability for attendance, performance, and work quality.
- Maintain high workmanship and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient fabrication shop.
- Maintain inventory of consumables and commonly used shop supplies.
- Maintain regular communication with Project Manager/Superintendent regarding production status.

- Deliver fabrication work on schedule.
- Maintain high-quality workmanship.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a shop foreman, lead fabricator, or supervisor in a structural steel or miscellaneous metals fabrication shop.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication drawings.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, welding procedures, layout, fit-up, and quality requirements.
- Experience supervising welders, fitters, laborers, fabricators, and machine operators.
- Ability to prioritize production schedules and adjust to changing project needs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in an industrial fabrication environment.
Nice to have
- Custom fabricated assemblies
- Welding knowledge, including MIG, FCAW, and SMAW
- GTAW experience is a plus.
Skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Blueprint and fabrication drawing reading.
- Shop math, layout, fit-up, and quality control.
- Welding knowledge, including MIG, FCAW, and SMAW; GTAW experience is a plus.
- Time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and production tracking software.
