About the role

  • Our company is a national packaging supply and supply-chain solutions company with an expansive distribution network.
  • Help track project timelines, follow up on outstanding items, and flag any delays or issues to the team.
  • Process approved orders, complete follow-ups with vendors, and escalate any concerns as instructed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Sourcing Department and assist Sourcing Managers with basic tasks related to new packaging products and specification updates.
  • Create and enter Requests for Quotes (RFQs), input product information into Salesforce or SpecRight, and help maintain accurate project notes throughout each project.
  • Assist with gathering pricing information from multiple vendors and preparing simple cost comparisons, customer/vendor quotes, basic specification documents, and other internal forms.
  • Prepare basic documents such as new item forms, spec sheets, customer price lists, and warehouse notifications, ensuring all systems are updated correctly.
  • Support research efforts by gathering information on packaging products, market trends, and potential new vendors.
  • Help organize and maintain a vendor library including contact information, capabilities, samples, and product details.
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Have empathy and seek to understand others' perspectives to build strong relationships.

Requirements

  • Must-Haves: Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or 1 year of administrative, project support, purchasing, or related experience.
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Nice-to-Haves: Experience with purchase orders, inventory documents, or bills of lading.

Nice to have

  • Basic knowledge of packaging, manufacturing, or product development (a plus, not required).
  • Exposure to international sourcing or packaging is a plus.
