About the role

Material Handler is responsible for the movement of material into and out of the warehouse in a safe, accurate and efficient manner, using industrial lift trucks and other material handling equipment (as necessary) to perform the movement of material.

Pick and deliver material to manufacturing as directed, using the Gentex inventory and warehouse control system.
Perform receiving and shipping functions using the Gentex inventory and warehouse control system.
Perform necessary transactional functions related to inventory receipts, issues, put-aways, and shipments using the Gentex inventory and warehouse control system.
Perform area housekeeping.
Perform periodic cycle counts as directed and assist in reconciliation of record variances through investigation of inventory history and related transactions.
Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
Ability to perform physical tasks requiring frequent repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, or otherwise positioning body to load and unload materials from racks, skids, and carts of varying heights.

Ability to consistently meet attendance and scheduling expectations.
Quality of Work - Attention to detail in following work instructions, willingness to meet production output/expectations, and limit the number of quality errors including the ability to identify and correct these errors.
Ability to obtain certification and ability to operate all material handling equipment including, but not limited to, industrial lift trucks.
Ability to maneuver in or around equipment.
Ability to stand, walk and move around for the entirety of the scheduled work shift.
Ability to obtain a basic understanding of the Gentex inventory and warehouse control system, which uses computerized records and bar code scanning technology.
Must be a team player.
1+ years of manufacturing or material handling experience.
Operate material handling equipment, as required, to load/unload trucks, as well as put away/pick material.

Monitor and improve the following measurements: 99.95% minimum inventory record accuracy, all transactions performed per established procedure on an accurate and efficient basis as periodically set by the supervisor, high level of safety when operating on or around industrial lift trucks, response time for internal and external customers, and shipping-related performance (impact on customer).
