About the role
- WQAL's research focuses on understanding the impacts of land use, land cover, and extreme climatic events on the water quality of streams, rivers, and lakes across diverse ecosystems, including tropical, temperate, and boreal forests.
- In addition to supporting research initiatives, WQAL operates as a fee-for-service laboratory, providing water quality analysis for faculty and researchers at UNH, external research organizations, and federal agencies.
- UNH is located in Durham on a 188-acre campus, 60 miles north of Boston and 8 miles from the Atlantic coast and is convenient to New Hampshire's lakes and mountains.
Responsibilities
- include the preparation, handling, and analysis of environmental samples, operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, data recording and quality assurance activities, and other tasks that support the laboratory's research and analytical mission.
- This position offers hands-on experience in environmental laboratory operations and scientific research support.
- The University of New Hampshire (UNH) Water Quality Analysis Laboratory (WQAL), housed within the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment, is a research and analytical facility dedicated to providing high-quality environmental data in support of scientific research at local, national, and international scales.
- Employees work under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager and full-time Research Technicians to perform a variety of routine laboratory duties.

Compensation
