About the role
- Title: Waste Technician Job Description: Job Overview The Waste Technician collects general Municipal Solid Waste (trash, recycling, medical and hazardous waste) generated at client facility and categorize by material type.
- Collection, hauling, store and processing of pre-sorted waste and disposal of post sorted waste into dumpsters, compactors, bailors, or trailers.
- Skills and Qualifications High School Diploma or GED with 1-2 years recycling or solid waste experience in a company environment or equivalent combination of training and experiences.
Nice to have
- Will be trained on the collecting, consolidating and or sorting process.
- Will be expected to collect, consolidate, and or sort materials into the assigned categories efficiently and accurately.
- Inspects materials and sort items or materials according to type, size, condition, coloring, marking, or other characteristics.
- Weighs materials and containers and keeps records of the total amount of waste collected as requested.
- Sweep and pick up trash around dumpsters, utility courtyards, docks, and fence lines.
- Collection, hauling and processing of pre-sorted waste and disposal of post sorted waste into dumpsters or compactors.
- Establishes secondary jobs to ensure always busy
- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Skills
- Work will be performed outside (weather permitting).
- Work will be performed standing for 40%-60% of the shift.
- Work will be performed at table height.
- Work will be performed frequent driving about 40%-50% of the shift.
