About the role

  • At BME, our clients are on the front lines of Public Health.
  • We take pride in having multi-year, multi-project engagements, often working closely as an extension of their staff.
  • BME Org-Wide Responsibilities for Senior Consultants (Subject Matter Experts): Senior Consultant roles at BME consist of approximately 85% project work, 5% administrative work, and 10% business development.

Responsibilities

  • Navigates project ambiguity and pivots seamlessly to maintain steady partnership and meet client needs as they evolve Develop tailored work plans that align with client objectives and target audiences, including messaging frameworks, visual identity systems, and outreach strategies.
  • Lead client discovery sessions to understand goals, audiences, and desired outcomes; translate insights into creative solutions and deliverables.
  • Creative Direction & Design Execution Oversee the development of high-quality, audience-centered creative deliverables including reports, infographics, presentations, campaign collateral, and digital media.
  • Maintain creative standards and ensure brand consistency across client projects.
  • Manage the design and production process from concept through delivery, coordinating with internal and external designers as needed.
  • Client Relationship Management & Team Leadership Act as a trusted partner to client leads, ensuring high-quality service, timely delivery, and creative excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with BME's consulting and business development teams to integrate design and communications strategies into broader client scopes of work.
  • Lead proposal development and thought leadership efforts related to creative strategy, communications, and design.
  • Evaluation & Continuous Improvement Develop and track metrics to assess communication effectiveness and audience engagement.
  • Continuously refine creative processes and tools to enhance efficiency and client value Other duties may be assigned to support BME's internal marketing work when surge capacity is needed.

Requirements

  • This role may require occasional travel to client sites, conferences, or meetings as required
  • A portfolio is required for consideration.
  • Proficiency in relevant design applications (Adobe Suite or similar) and familiarity with presentation and collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Figma, Canva, etc.).
  • Experience with AI-assisted workflows such as image generation or video production.

Nice to have

  • Experience, Qualification, & Skills Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field Master's preferred, but not required.
  • Preferred Skills and Qualifications People management experience preferred.
  • Motion graphics experience strongly preferred.

Compensation

  • The salary range for this position is $87,360 - $120,640 annually.
  • Please note: New employees are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint, dependent upon internal equity and the budgeted amount for the position.
