About the role
- They identify and plan all the moving parts and are responsible for ensuring the project is completed on budget and within scope.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, collaborating with BD Managers and professionals to secure new projects and expand Catamount's client base.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for hiring and developing project team members (e.g., Project Managers and Engineers, Superintendents, and others as deemed appropriate).
- Financial Management: Manage project budgets, work-in-place and earnings forecasts, and financial performance, ensuring profitability while mitigating risks and controlling costs.
- Manage Purchasing and Buyout: Using strong negotiation skills, establish the appropriate purchasing plan, and makes solid and timely decisions for the company and the project during the buyout process.
- Strategic Execution: Implement strategic goals at the project and market level to achieve Catamount's broader growth goals and exceed client expectations.
- Client and Partner Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong client, subcontractor and partner relationships, understanding their needs, expectations, and addressing concerns as they arise throughout the project lifecycle.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, implementing strategies to minimize disruptions and maintain project success. Hold self and others accountable to following critical operational processes and addressing risks head-on.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure conformity with contract documents and scope of work, as well as address issues of underperformance if it arises.
- Project Team Leadership: Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Preconstruction: Develop operational strategies, phasing plans, and project schedules that support the preconstruction effort.
- Maintain lead for operational oversight and interaction with the preconstruction team.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years' related experience, preferably with industrial or manufacturing projects (but open to various portfolios)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project), and experience with (or ability to learn) Procore, office equipment and Internet Explorer or other similar Internet tools and experience
- Refined organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks for self, team, and projects
- However, must be comfortable traveling 3-4 times per month
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably within the Construction Sciences, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong desire to grow in their leadership capacity and influence
Skills
- Understand Master Subcontractor Agreements critical language and negotiate those only with approval of Division President.
- Skills & Qualifications:
- People and project management skills and abilities
- Outstanding communication skills (listening, presenting, interpersonal and written)
- Advanced mathematic and reasoning ability, and strong negotiating skills
