About the role
- The Automation Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing automated machinery, electrical/mechanical equipment, and production systems to ensure optimal performance and adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Duties/Responsibilities: Inspect automated machinery, equipment, and systems to identify issues and ensure functionality.
- Ability to prioritize and self-schedule maintenance work around production activities.
Responsibilities
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on various types of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment and supplies.
- Adhere to GMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), safety standards and policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with variable temperatures and humidity levels.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend over, and pick up items and have constant movement for the duration of the shift.
- Must be able to lift, push, kneel, and pick up items, both small and large.
- Strong knowledge of automation systems, including process control, instrumentation, and servo-driven systems with ladder logic.
- Proficiency in calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks effectively around production activities.
- Required Skills/Abilities: Strong knowledge of automation systems, including process control, instrumentation, and servo-driven systems with ladder logic.
Nice to have
- Vocational/Trade training or an associate's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field, is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with hands-on experience in automation and mechanical systems required.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and automation troubleshooting preferred.
