About the role

  • The Department of English at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for an Assistant Professor of U.S. literature from the nineteenth century with a desired secondary area in Queer Theory to begin on July 1, 2027.
  • We welcome applications from candidates specializing in any literary genre, but the candidate should be comfortable teaching and advising students on texts from the nineteenth century into the twentieth century.
  • Candidates possessing or expecting PhDs in English Literature or related fields no later than July 1, 2027, are invited to apply.

  • The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active program of research and contribute to the department's undergraduate and graduate programs.
