About the role

  • The entry-level Mechanical Engineer I role focuses on supporting senior engineers in various projects related to mechanical systems, propulsion, structures, or environmental systems.
  • Additionally, you will contribute to the resolution of routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity.

Responsibilities

  • The position involves assisting in the analysis, design, and evaluation of mechanical systems and components, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing technical documentation and reports.
  • In this role, you will assist senior engineers in the analysis, design, and evaluation of mechanical systems and components.
  • You will collect and analyze data related to mechanical systems, propulsion, structures, structural analysis, or environmental systems to support engineering objectives.

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
  • 2 years of experience.
  • Ability to work in a team and follow guidance from senior engineers.
  • The role requires clear communication skills, the ability to follow instructions effectively, and a collaborative approach to achieving project goals and meeting deadlines.

Nice to have

  • Internship or co-op experience in a mechanical engineering or related environment.
  • Familiarity with engineering CAD tools such as NX, SolidWorks, or similar including a familiarity with detail drawing standards and GD&T.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, material sciences, and their impact on mechanical systems.
