About the role
- This position is specifically focused on Vestas turbine platforms and requires hands-on experience leading gearbox, generator, blade, hub, and pitch bearing exchanges.
- The successful candidate will serve as the on-site crew leader responsible for safety, execution, planning, quality, customer communication, and project delivery.
- This is a travel-based role requiring extended project assignments and approximately 90% domestic travel.
Responsibilities
- Lead crews performing major component exchanges on Vestas wind turbine platforms.
- Maintain project documentation, inspection records, and closeout reporting requirements.
- Mentor and develop Wind Turbine Technicians and future field leaders.
- Lead high-impact Vestas major component exchange projects across North America.
- Perform complex gearbox, generator, blade, hub, and pitch bearing replacements.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of wind turbine maintenance experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Vestas turbine mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, drivetrain components, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, LOTO procedures, rigging practices, and safe work standards.
- Ability to travel extensively, including assignments lasting 4-6 weeks at a time.
- Applicants must have demonstrated experience performing and leading Major Component Exchange activities on Vestas turbine platforms.
Nice to have
- Preferred Technical school, military, or trade-related training.
