About the role
- This role assists the Head Coach in implementing daily lesson plans, managing student behavior, reinforcing social-emotional learning (SEL) principles, and ensuring compliance with school-site policies and organizational standards.
Responsibilities
- Program & Instructional Support
- Support warm-ups, skill drills, game facilitation, and transitions between activities.
- Student Engagement & SEL Support
- Support inclusive participation by adapting activities for varying skill levels and needs.
- Help maintain active supervision and student safety at all times.
- Support line-ups, transitions, attendance counts, and dismissal procedures.
- Maintain professional boundaries and appropriate interactions with students and staff.
Requirements
- Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with a Head Coach and site staff.
- Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage in physical activity for extended periods.
- Required Clearances & Certifications (may be required prior to start)
- TB test (as required by district)

- Assist the Head Coach in leading structured sports, games, and physical-activity sessions aligned with the daily curriculum.
- Reinforce program rules, routines, and expectations consistently.
- Provide encouragement, redirection, and positive reinforcement to students during activities.
- Model respectful communication, teamwork, and sportsmanship at all times.
- Use age-appropriate SEL language to promote self-regulation, cooperation, and conflict resolution.
- Assist in de-escalating minor conflicts and refer larger issues to the Head Coach or Site Coordinator.
- Assist with equipment setup, breakdown, and proper storage.
