About the role

  • This role supports the interdisciplinary care team by assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring patient status, and promoting a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused environment for individuals undergoing substance abuse treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Care and Support
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients in various stages of recovery.
  • Maintain infection control standards, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will provide compassionate, high-quality care and support to patients in the Regional Drug Dependency Unit (RDDU) at the Great Plains Area facility in Winnebago, NE.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass background checks in accordance with facility and federal requirements.
  • Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
  • Required:
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, recognized by the state of Nebraska or compact state licensure eligibility.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (or able to obtain before hire).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred:
  • Previous experience working in behavioral health, addiction recovery, or similar clinical settings.
  • Knowledge of cultural sensitivity practices, particularly within Native American healthcare environments.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
