About the role
- The Department Chair accepts the responsibility of providing leadership and maintaining administrative operations of the department in addition to performing the traditional academic duties of teaching, research, and service.
- The Department Chair reports to the Dean of the College.
- The workload balance between administration and traditional academic duties is determined by the Dean of the College in conjunction with the Chair.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate should expect to maintain an active program of research and teaching.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the leadership of other academic and administrative units to develop appropriate policies and/or programs.
Requirements
- An earned terminal degree in a field recognized within the discipline.
- A solid record if teaching and scholarly activities required for a minimal appointment to the rank of associate professor.
