About the role
- Assess, treat and care as prescribed for patients with breathing disorders.
- Assume primary responsibility for respiratory therapies, including the supervision of respiratory therapy technicians.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position.
Responsibilities
- Successfully collaborate and initiate coordination of respiratory services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the resident's total regimen of care.
- Accurately obtain, document and report all pertinent vital signs
- Fully assess and document complete respiratory assessment upon admit and on a continual basis, while on shift.
Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
- Certificates and Licenses:
- Must possess a current Respiratory Therapist license issued by the state.
- Other Specific Requirements
- Must provide evidence of being free of tuberculosis infection upon hire and as set forth by the policies of the facility.
