Responsibilities

- Manage the professional development of staff by participating in the selection of unit staff, providing staff training and coaching, and ongoing feedback; ensure performance appraisals are used effectively and timely to develop growth plans and identify opportunities for staff to learn.
- Build collaborative relationships with staff, supervisors, other departments, professionals, and community partners to identify and provide services to clients.
Requirements
- Ensure staff's work meets program compliance with applicable policies and procedures by reviewing completed cases, assignments and ongoing referrals, and recommending corrective action when required.
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university;
- Three (3) years (6,000 hours) of verifiable social casework or employment services experience with a public or private agency/organization.
- Possession of a Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling may substitute for one year of experience.
- Experience Substitution: Possession of a Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling may substitute for one year of experience.
Compensation
- $110,292.00 - $134,056.00 yearly https://careers.sf.gov/classifications/?classCode=2904&setId=COMMN

- Education Substitution: Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years).

- Under direction, the Social Work Supervisor provides supervision to specialized social workers such as Human Service Technicians and Social Work Specialists.
- They monitor the work of staff engaged in providing various social services to clients in such programs as Adult Services, Family and Children's Services, and In-Home Supportive Services.

- Supervise the schedule and work activities of a unit by planning and delegating the work of a unit involved in providing casework, client management, continuing client investigation, transportation, and processing services for programs in Adult Services, Family and Children's Services, In-Home Supportive Services, and the Homeless Program.
