About the role

  • Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an attorney for its Legal Transactions Group.
  • Directly advise management and internal clients on legal risks presented during engineering, procurement, construction, and other phases of the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • This position involves duties relating to drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts to support advanced semiconductor fabrication facilities across multiple sites, with a focus on vendor/supplier and procurement contracts.
  • In your position as Legal Counsel, you'll work alongside a talented team of attorneys and paralegals to support the transactional work at Samsung Austin Semiconductor.
  • Manage routine legal processes, such as task tracking, reporting, and working with paralegal staff.

Requirements

  • Must have JD degree with at least 5 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Texas, or eligible for in-house practice in Texas.
  • Must be detail oriented, have good judgment and be able to manage multiple complex and competing priorities without significant supervision.
  • Experience with real estate, land use, zoning, environmental, and related compliance matters.
  • Experience drafting, filing, and responding to lien and bond claim notices.
  • Experience with contractor claims and disputes.
  • Experience with public funding in construction projects.
  • Experience with local and federal tax incentives.
  • Applicants must be authorized to access such information or eligible for government authorization.

Nice to have

  • Experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, or engineering, procurement, and construction management is a plus.
  • Experience working as both an in-house attorney and at a major law firm is a plus.

  • Continuously improve legal operations, including work processes, forms, software systems, policies, and guidebooks.
  • Establish cross-functional relationships to solve problems that impact many company stakeholders.

  • Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience.

Compensation

  • The current base salary range for this role is between $143,000 - $207,000.
  • Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
