About the role
- The PCT III provides assistance with patient elimination, hygiene, comfort, safety, nutrition, and progress activity and practices patient and family centered care.
- Regularly uses both Core and Advanced PCT competencies in their daily work.
- This role typically reports to the Unit Manager.
Responsibilities
- Licenses/Certifications: Certified in Basic Life Support issued by (AHA) American Heart Association within 90 days of employment.
Skills
- Proficiency in at least 3 out of 6 Advanced Competencies of the PCT III position:
- 1.) Phlebotomy *required
- 2.) Wound Care *required
- 3.) Cardiac Monitoring
- 4.) Decontamination
- 5.) Basic Life Support instructor
- 6.) Stop the Bleed® instructor
- Provides direct patient care for assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Responsible for timely and accurate documentation of information. Should appropriately report any unusual changes or findings to the nurse.
- Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment.
