About the role
- The University Advising Center seeks an Academic Advisor I/II to join its dedicated team of professionals.
- Additionally, the candidate's secondary responsibilities will include supporting the advising and administrative functions of the WSU Phoenix (grade forgiveness) program for all participating schools, colleges, and units.
- The Academic Advisor I/II will report to the Senior Director of University Advising.
Responsibilities
- We deliver high quality, student-centered, and culturally responsive support to students.
- The advisor is responsible for assisting students with navigating the transition to Wayne State including advising/registration support during first year and transfer orientation, one-on-one advising and group advising, programming to support career decision-making and professional development, helping students assess their academic and personal needs, and making appropriate referrals as needed.
