About the role

  • Salary Range: $107,500 - $111,500 Start Date: September 8, 2026 Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid) Closing Date: Applications accepted on a rolling basis.
  • Interviews will commence the week of July 20, 2026.
  • Represents family law clients with level of service and priorities for case work to be decided in consultation with the Director of Legal & Advocacy Services.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support, mentoring, and legal supervision of CLC Legal Navigator, Family Law Advocate(s), Family Law Services Coordinator, Community Engagement Worker, and CLC Program Assistant.
  • Reviews CLC client-facing staff's legal work, including client communications, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Occasionally delivers workshops and presentations to advocates, lawyers, and other community groups.
  • The CLC Managing Lawyer manages and provides support to CLC staff and provides legal supervision to advocates and direct services to clients.
  • Psychological aspects: communicating with team members, organization of work related to providing legal supervision of CLC staff and advocates, collaborating with partners and stakeholders, incorporating a trauma-informed approach with clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD)
  • Experience in adjacent areas of law (asset)
  • Expertise in family law and adjacent areas
  • Knowledge of legal resources in BC (asset)
  • Participates in Rise evaluation processes as required.
  • Provides accurate time-keeping records, statistical information and activity reports, and carries out such further administrative responsibilities as may be required by Rise's Director of Legal & Advocacy Services or Executive Director.

Compensation

  • $107,500 - $111,500
