About the role

  • Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including but not limited to conveyors, crushers, mills, kilns, and packaging equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to guide maintenance and repair activities.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective repair solutions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks and inspections, replacing worn parts and making necessary adjustments to optimize equipment performance.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Collaborate with production personnel and other maintenance teams to minimize downtime and optimize plant operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably within a heavy manufacturing or cement plant environment.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and procedures.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb stairs and ladders, and work in various environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, dust).
  • The successful candidate may be required to pass a mechanical aptitude test, and will be required to complete the OJT program.
  • Internal and External training will be required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer literacy for CMMS data entry.

Nice to have

  • Completion of an accredited industrial maintenance apprenticeship program or equivalent vocational training preferred.

Skills

  • Operate various hand and power tools, as well as specialized diagnostic and repair equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
