About the role
- This role blends distributed systems engineering and cloud-native development in a high-impact environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python.
- Build and optimize ETL pipelines and secure data-sharing workflows using Spark.
- Deploy and manage containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes, and manage infrastructure-as-code.
- Software Engineer to join our Boulder-based team and help build the infrastructure powering our privacy first, data-driven platform.
- You'll also design systems to drive insights and power downstream applications.
Requirements
- Strong backend development experience in Python.
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and services (ideally AWS).
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries and working with large-scale datasets (Athena, Redshift, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Familiarity with real-time data processing or streaming architectures.
- Comfort with infrastructure-as-code tools (CloudFormation, CDK, etc.).
- Understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- A pragmatic problem-solving mindset with an eye for performance, security, and maintainability.
- Background in data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Exposure to Healthcare, AdTech, or privacy-sensitive data systems.
