About the role

  • This position offers the unique opportunity to work directly with Principal Investigator (Sukrit Silas) in advancing the lab's core mission-deploying an innovative screening platform across diverse bacterial species.
  • The RA will take a leadership role in constructing complex libraries of tens of thousands of phage genes and conducting functional genomics experiments that measure genetic interactions between phages and bacteria on an unprecedented scale.
  • Our institute is at the forefront of applying systems biology approaches to fundamental questions in phage biology.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with research planning, including primer and vector design, experimental execution, analysis, troubleshooting, and data interpretation

Requirements

  • Availability for evening and weekend hours as required
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including:

  • Experience with RNA and bacteriophage handling
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Cell and Molecular Biology or a related field, with at least one year of hands-on research laboratory experience (preferred)

Compensation

  • Compensation -competitive salary. Title and salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
