About the role

  • Responsible for assigned preventative maintenance work orders and repairs to electrical systems and mechanical equipment in the plant.
  • This employee thrives in environments where safety, quality, service and cost are the highest priorities and is able to make recommendations to improve the overall performance of plant equipment.
  • The Maintenance Technician will interact and communicate effectively with all GAF employees with a positive, customer focused attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced maintenance support and PM's of equipment for the Plant site.
  • This includes troubleshooting, working from blueprints and schematics as related to machine drives and conveying systems in a high production line environment.
  • Performs root cause failure analysis on manufacturing and maintenance equipment.
  • Perform millwright work such as aligning a pump and motor, install sheaves, belts, align equipment, check for proper alignment and belt tension.
  • Perform all phases of welding including MIG Rod.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance assignments.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience required.
  • 3+ years Industrial maintenance experience in high volume manufacturing operation, preferably continuous process
  • Experience troubleshooting and repair of mechanical power trains, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, welding and assembly of parts and materials.
  • A working knowledge of 480v systems and their respective controls, ability to use and read multimeter.
  • Ability to operate a manual mill and lathe.
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of mechanical and facilities repair and maintenance.
  • Must be able to read instructions, blue prints and manuals, and use any meters, hand tools and shop equipment to perform the required job tasks.

Nice to have

  • Associate's Degree Preferred
  • Experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix Controllers / RSLogix 5000 Software a definite plus.
  • NFPA 70e Certificate preferred.

Skills

  • Daily requirements will include skills such as fabricating, welding, machining, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

Compensation

  • Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
