About the role

  • Telesat is headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, and has offices and facilities around the world.
  • The company's state-of-the-art Satellite fleet consists of 12 GEO satellites, the Canadian payload on ViaSat-1 and one LEO 3 demonstration satellite.
  • In addition, they will provide technical expertise in the development, integration, and productization of antennas and user terminal technology as it pertains to the needs and uses cases of satellite terminals.

  • Candidate must be able to obtain relevant security clearance if based in Canada

Nice to have

  • As a member of the User Terminal team, you will be responsible for the definition, specifications, and process for third-party type approval and certification of user terminals on the Telesat Lightspeed network.
  • Evaluation of antennas and user terminals with integrated and stand-alone modems.
  • Upgrades from NGSO or multi-band/multi-orbit solutions
  • Define test procedures, measurements, reports of terminal criteria including RF characteristics from accredited test labs certified
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant discipline with an emphasis in communication systems or satellite terminals
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in product management in a STEM field with a minimum of 5 years in the satcom sector
  • Master's degree or MBA is a plus
  • Experience managing terminals, antennas or modems through a type of approval process is preferred.
