About the role
- OpenLoop's mission is to bring care anywhere by powering telehealth solutions at scale.
- The Legal team ensures our rapid growth is built on a foundation of compliance and rigorous defense, allowing our clinicians to focus on patient outcomes.
- As the Associate General Counsel, you will be the strategic architect of our healthcare, pharmacy, and regulatory arm.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Regulatory Engagement: You will lead the development of outreach strategies, management of regulatory filings, and responses to government inquiries.
- Operationalize Legal Advice: Move beyond "no" to find "how." You will develop legal tools and SOPs that allow our product and engineering teams to build compliant telehealth features at speed, balancing legal risk with aggressive business growth.
Requirements
- Management Track Record: Experience directly managing attorneys or legal consultants, with a demonstrated ability to delegate and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategically Minded: You can operate at 30,000 feet to identify emerging legal trends while remaining tactical enough to resolve immediate operational hurdles.

- Specific experience with pharmacy compliance, PBM contracting, or digital pharmacy operations.

- Serve as the primary legal authority for all healthcare, pharmacy, and digital health regulatory matters.
- You possess a deep, native understanding of the digital health landscape and aren't intimidated by regulations that evolve faster than the laws themselves.
- Proven experience navigating the specific regulatory hurdles of digital health, including multi-state provider licensing and virtual prescribing.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare fraud and abuse laws, FDA requirements (where applicable), and international health regulations.
- Experience using a risk-based approach to develop creative solutions for novel issues in the "consumer electronics" or "tech-enabled health" space.
