About the role
- The Program Manager plays a central role in administering UW-Madison's export control compliance program.
- The role also integrates research security considerations, including mitigating risks in international engagements and foreign influence concerns, into the export control processes.
- Provides consultation for resolution of policy violations that involve students, employees, visitors, guests of the institution and/or applicants
Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains institutional and operating policies and procedures to ensure compliance
- Directs operational activities and staffing resources for compliance implementation, including outreach, support, and/or investigations
- Oversees, develops and participates in activities designed to raise awareness of the law(s) and its purpose
Requirements
- Experience interpreting and implementing government regulations
Nice to have
- Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
- International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions
- Experience in a university research environment or federal regulatory compliance
- Strong interpersonal and management skills
- Familiarity with:
- NSPM-33 or related research security requirements
- Required: Bachelor's Degree
Compensation
- The minimum annual salary for this position is $90,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
