About the role

  • At Elanco (NYSE: ELAN) - it all starts with animals!
  • We believe that diversity is the driving force behind innovation, creativity, and overall business success.
  • Making animals' lives better makes life better - join our team today!

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize ligand-binding assays (e.g., ELISA, MSD, Gyros) for the quantification of monoclonal antibodies in various biological fluids.
  • Perform fit-for-purpose bioanalytical methods according to internal SOPs and global regulatory guidelines, assessing assay performance characteristics such as accuracy, precision, selectivity, sensitivity, and stability.
  • Characterize, conjugate, and manage critical reagents (e.g., capture/detection antibodies, standards) to ensure long-term assay consistency and performance.
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with assays. Evaluate and implement new technologies and platforms to improve assay sensitivity, throughput, and robustness.
  • Meticulously document all experimental procedures and results in an electronic lab notebook (ELN).
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience developing, validating, and running ligand-binding assays (LBAs).
  • Elanco may use automated tools, including AI, to support parts of our recruitment process, such as reviewing applications against job‑related criteria and/or transferrable skills.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and platforms to improve assay sensitivity, throughput, and robustness.

Requirements

  • M.S. with 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • B.S. with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of the principles of pharmacokinetics for biologic drugs.
  • Proficiency with common immunoassay platforms, with ELISA experience as a minimum.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with advanced immunoassay platforms such as Meso Scale Discovery (MSD), Gyros, or Quanterix.
  • Experience with the development and validation of immunogenicity (Anti-Drug Antibody, ADA) assays.
  • Familiarity with cell-based neutralizing antibody (NAb) assays.
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience with relevant software (e.g., SoftMax Pro, Benchling).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a high degree of scientific rigor.
  • Don't meet every single requirement?
  • Studies have shown underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification.
  • If you think you might be a good fit for a role but don't necessarily meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply.
