Responsibilities
- Implements site safety and emergency plans.
- Performs daily safety inspections and reporting of inspections.
- Communicates and supports a proactive culture of Safety.
Requirements
- 5 years of recent experience as SSHO on federal construction renovation projects with multiple trades.
- Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of EM 385-1-1.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and a high-level proficiency in written and verbal communication to discuss work requirements with project stakeholders, including client, staff, and subcontractors.
- Must be able to meet the standards required to obtain and hold general clearance for access to military installations.
- Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.
Nice to have
- Previous asbestos abatement experience.
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- The position will require work to be performed indoors and outdoors.
- The employee will be exposed to various weather conditions.

Skills
- Thorough knowledge of EM 385-1-1.
- Competent person in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
- Must be familiar with the requirements of 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926.
- Must possess a working knowledge of computer systems such as Adobe, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Must be a self-starter, well organized, and able to work independently with minimal direction.
- Able to be flexible and adapt to constant change.
- Knowledge of acceptable construction site practices, including occupational safety and health regulations.
