About the role
- Automated aviation systems will enable a future where air transportation is safer, more convenient and fundamentally transformative to the way goods - and eventually people - move around the planet.
- Systems Engineer you will be involved in all system development aspects of our prototypes and certifiable safety critical flight systems.
- This role can be remote, or located at our facility in Mountain View, California.
Responsibilities
- Define & deliver development plans, process, work instructions, training.
- Develop new and novel methods, techniques or processes.
- Technically lead significant areas of the program across system requirements, design, validation and verification:
- Lead cross functional RCCAs, Trade studies, Integral Process.
- Perform trades studies to assess performance, complexity, risk, and cost of competing technical solutions.
- Define and support the execution of the system activities according to ARP-4754 guidance
- With the support of the entire team, you will be instrumental in developing the systems designs and lifecycle data that demonstrates our system is safe and error free.
- An offer of employment will be contingent upon the applicant's capacity to perform in compliance with U.S. export control laws.
Requirements
- Must be willing to travel 20% of the time.
Nice to have
- Act as a subject matter expert in your respective domain area.
- Bachelor's Degree of Science or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related discipline, or equivalent experience at a minimum
- Deep system development experience from specifying, designing, integrating and testing multiple complex safety critical avionics certification programs
- Experience planning, and executing all of the development processes in ARP4754 across multiple programs, including leading system review audits with the airworthiness authorities
- Advanced Degree of Science or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related discipline
- Proven experience leading engagement with airworthiness authorities for new/novel applications, technologies, or means of compliance
- Experience leading multiple different inter-disciplinary teams through complex architectural trade studies or root cause investigations
