About the role

  • Spaces include labs, classrooms, offices, restrooms, and other common areas of the facility.
  • These units include Facilities Management Renovations, Custodial Services, Environmental Health and Safety, outside contractors and others.
  • This includes arranging furniture assembly, furniture moves, and the hanging of whiteboards, chalkboards, and pictures.

Responsibilities

  • Performs safety checklist items, such as posting signs, replenishing first-aid kit supplies, checking emergency lighting, and filing monthly forms for AEDs and Stop the Bleed kits.
  • Assists the FSS team in documenting, reporting, and scheduling building and grounds needs, and serves as a point of contact for building occupants, the Steward FSS Team, UFS, and vendors.
  • Provides direct administrative support for the daily functions of the FSS team.
  • Works daily with multiple groups that affect the function and operation of the building.
  • Supports the daily facility needs of occupants and their assigned spaces.

Requirements

  • Works with Facilities Coordinator, faculty advisors, and the FSS Team to achieve the best use of space and complete required improvements, often within limited budgets.
  • Serves as a point of contact to ensure floors and carpets are regularly cleaned and that all required monthly inspections (building condition, vehicle, and custodial services) are completed.

Skills

  • Knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of maintaining institutional and departmental data and tracking systems.
