Responsibilities

  • Family Support Provide daily school pickups at 3:00 PM and after-school support.
  • Manage transportation to activities, including sports practices and weekly extracurricular commitments.
  • Prepare school lunches, snacks, and help manage school-related logistics.
  • Support children with light academic engagement and positive reinforcement.
  • Help manage sports equipment, school papers, backpacks, and after-school routines.
  • Provide flexibility for sick days, including earlier starts and full-day childcare support as needed.
  • Household Organization & Maintenance Maintain and improve upon existing household organizational systems.
  • Complete daily resets and prepare the home for cleaners (1x weekly) Light tidying (dishes, wiping surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas) Support seasonal clothing, décor, and bedding swaps.
  • Meal Planning & Prep Create weekly meal plans, communicate upcoming meals with the family, and bring creativity and variety to weekly menus.
  • Manage grocery ordering primarily through online platforms (e.g., Amazon Fresh), with occasional in-store shopping.

Requirements

  • 11:30 AM-5:00 PM With flexibility required for kids' sick days, earlier starts, and occasional longer days when a parent is traveling or has evening commitments.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Reliable personal transportation required to commute to Pelham
  • Our children are 10, 8, and 5 years old, and our household is full of the energy and movement that comes with a busy family schedule.
  • You walk into a home and quickly understand what needs attention, what is coming up next, and where you can make life easier.
  • You are proactive, organized, and comfortable creating structure where needed, while also taking the time to learn the family's preferences and the rhythms that work best for the household.
  • You enjoy looking ahead at the family calendar, anticipating upcoming needs, remembering the details, and making sure nothing gets missed.
  • You enjoy improving systems, finding ways to make the household run more smoothly, and keeping track of the many moving pieces that come with family life.
  • You are patient, positive, and genuinely enjoy being around children.
  • Reliable personal transportation required to commute to Pelham; use of a family vehicle is provided during working hours for errands and pickups.

Skills

  • Stay actively connected to school calendars, including projects, events, theme days, and important deadlines.
  • Assist with kid-related errands, birthday party preparation, gift shopping, and wrapping.
  • Be a consistent, positive adult presence who is engaged in the children's daily lives.
  • Act as a project manager for the household by reviewing upcoming needs, anticipating challenges, and helping keep things moving.
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs and organization projects.
  • Assist with event, holiday, and guest preparation.
  • Pack and unpack for family travel.
  • Maintain mudroom, garage, backpack, and sports equipment organization.
  • Replace batteries, light bulbs, smoke detector batteries, and household filters.
  • Prepare school lunches for each child two to three times per week.

Compensation

  • $38-$42 per hour, depending on experience.
