About the role
- The ideal candidate will work closely with designers, pattern makers, and manufacturers to ensure that all products meet the brand's quality, fit, and aesthetic standards.
Responsibilities
- Create and review detailed technical packages (tech packs) for sweater designs, including specifications for yarn, stitch, construction, measurements, and finishing techniques.
- Collaborate with domestic and international manufacturers to address any technical issues, clarify design intent, and ensure accurate sample production.
- Utilize your knowledge of yarns, knitting machines, and knitting techniques to optimize the production process and achieve desired design outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of all technical specifications, fit comments, and revisions throughout the development and production process.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a technical designer, with a focus on knitwear, particularly sweaters.
- Proficiency in creating and updating technical packages (tech packs) and using design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
Nice to have
- Experience working with both domestic and international factories is a plus.
- Knowledge of sustainable knitwear practices is a plus.
Compensation
- The annual salary range for this full-time role is dependent on experience between $80,000 - $100,000.
