About the role

The Maintenance Manager ensures that Maintenance standards and its implementation process meet the established food quality and safety standards, ensuring that Maintenance guidelines are followed effectively and safely.
Taking responsibility & making sure that the workers follow the guidelines related to GMP, adhering to safety, food safety and legislative guidelines.
Working closely with Plant Production, the Maintenance Manager will monitor the supervision the crew to provide quick response to management requests related to the general performance and upkeep of the production machines and equipment.

Manage all maintenance procedures and crew activities to produce results that meet or exceed accepted quality, efficiency and safety standards, including maintaining CFIA ratings by meeting or exceeding CFIA regulations requirement for equipment and plant maintenance, while maintaining safety
Develop, direct, manage, train, and motivate Supervisors and employees by communicating job expectations, appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees in conjunction with the Human Resource department.
Liaise with other departments on maintenance concerns and maintain strong relationships within and outside the organization.
Supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all Quality Systems.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

High Proficiency in MS Office.
Have 3+ years related and/or Management experience.
Experience in a meat processing an asset
High degree of flexibility and adaptability to take up additional duties and cross-train.
Ability to assess and prioritize.
Occasional overtime and ability to work various shifts may be required.
Proven leadership, team building and interpersonal skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, co-workers and Managers.
Strong verbal and written as well as effective communication skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflict.
Ability to accurately maintain detailed records.
Strong safety focus.
Be able to work independently, as well as being a strong team player.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Possession of Diploma or post-secondary education with Technical Certificate preferred.
Intermediate Computer Skills in Microsoft Office (such as word, excel, outlook, charting and graphing).
Be success-driven and have a "can do" attitude.

Participate in JHSC initiatives and follow established policies as outlined in the Health and Safety policies.
