- This role is responsible for overseeing all financial, accounting, operational reporting, and business performance activities for the business unit while partnering closely with operational leadership.
- The position combines hands-on accounting ownership with operational finance, profitability analysis, cost control, internal reporting, forecasting, and process improvement responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and finance activities for the transportation business unit.
- Partner with operational leadership on pricing, customer profitability, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Manage internal reporting and financial support for corporate finance leadership.
- Support audit requests and maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Provide day-to-day oversight and guidance to the business unit accounting support employee.
- Act as the primary finance business partner for transportation operations leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5-10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and operational performance analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel capabilities required.
- Ability to work independently in a lean environment

Nice to have
- CPA designation or active pursuit preferred.
- Experience in transportation, freight forwarding, logistics, distribution, or operational finance preferred.
Compensation
- Competitive salary - $100,000 - $120,000 based on experience
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
