About the role
- This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative clinical environment, contribute to the assessment process, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those receiving services.
- may include assisting with screenings, preparing materials, documenting observations, and supporting the implementation of communication-focused interventions under the supervision of the Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Participate in staff development, attend meetings, and attend in-services as scheduled.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred, in Speech Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders or Communication Disorders from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Speech language Pathology
- NH SLA Certification from the NH Office of Professional License and Certification
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Essential Responsibilities:
- NOTE: All duties are to be implemented as prescribed, directed and supervised by a New Hampshire licensed SLP. Documented supervision will consist of no less than 10% of direct time per week (on-site, in view) and 5% indirect time per week.
- Assist the Speech/language pathologist with speech/language and hearing screenings without making interpretations.
- Perform speech therapy as directed by Individual Education Plans developed by a licensed SLP.
- Document client performance (charts, records, graphs) and report data to the supervising SLP to track client progress and quality improvement.
- Assist SLP with clerical duties (preparing therapy materials, scheduling activities etc.).
- Assist with departmental operations such as maintaining supplies and equipment and a safe work area.
Nice to have
- One (1) to three (3) years' experience working as an SLA or experience working with children preferred
Compensation
- Up to 9 paid holidays annually, plus one floating holiday of your choice. For programs that remain open during holidays, staff scheduled to work will receive holiday pay in accordance with program guidelines.
