About the role

  • Today, the College of Engineering is the largest college on the College Station campus with more than 25,000 engineering students enrolled in 15 departments.
  • Job Description The Senior Communications Specialist I, under supervision, is primarily focused on internal communications.
  • This position writes and assists in the production of informational and promotional materials, presentations and special events for the Engineering Research Office (ERO).

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a tracking system for project timelines and costs.
  • Develops and implements the overall communications goals for the ERO office.
  • Works with the Engineering Communications team for editing and design, as well as dissemination of news releases to the media.
  • Assists in promoting special events and programs. Generates communications strategies and develops related promotional plans, tactics, and materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment system or water treatment system.
  • Engineering Communications develops and implements communications and marketing plans focusing on key priorities of the engineering program as defined by the engineering leadership team.
  • An award-winning team of communications, marketing, graphic design, web, and public relations professionals, focuses on strengthening the brand and image of the Texas A&M University College of Engineering, Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station, Texas A&M Engineering Program, Texas A&M University and The Texas A&M University System.
  • Documents need to be presented no later than the third day of employment.

Requirements

  • If hired, you will be required to complete the federal Employment Eligibility Verification I-9 form.
  • You will be required to present original and unexpired documents to prove your identity and authorization to work in the United States.
