About the role
- Blue Yonder Defense Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our product development team supporting software solutions for government customers.
- This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, secure, and compliant applications through rigorous testing, validation, and process improvement.
- The ideal candidate has strong experience in both manual and automated testing, understands secure and compliant development environments, and is comfortable working closely with cross-functional teams in Agile settings.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing
- Validate software against business, technical, and compliance requirements
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution
- Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend preventive measures
- Validate security controls and participate in vulnerability testing efforts
- Support audit readiness through proper documentation and traceability
- Maintain detailed test documentation and traceability matrices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing
- Strong understanding of:
- Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar)
- Familiarity with APIs and backend testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST clients)
Compensation
- Salary range for this role will be from 62,000.00 - 75,000.00
