About the role
- Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and monitoring of network infrastructure hardware and software.
- Install, configure, and monitor network infrastructure including switches, routers, servers, and cabling systems.
- Provide recommendations on policies, procedures, equipment, and long-term goals for network operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce standards for computer and network cabling, wireless systems, and infrastructure design.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain UPS hardware to ensure power reliability.
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain patch panels, network cables, telephony and network equipment.
- Collaborate with internal and external clients to maintain strong working relationships.
- Provide third level technical support for Technical Support Services and other college departments.
- Perform professional network and other low volage wiring for offices, labs, and relocations, ensuring neat installations with wall plates, molding, and pipe.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related field.
- In lieu of Bachelor's degree, minimum of Associate degree and two (2) years of experience in system administration or networks may be substituted.
- Experience with IP routing, computing services, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), virtual networks, cloud services, network design and implementation.
- Strong understanding and experiences with LAN and WAN fundamentals and related protocols is essential.
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently.
- Computer experience with databases, MS Office, client/server technology.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in a related technical discipline
- Microsoft, Cisco or equivalent networking certification.
- Cisco, Microsoft or related experience.
- Three (3) plus years of experience in computer networking.
- Experience in managing systems that requires high security clearance.
- English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
- Demonstrated multicultural competence.
- Normal office physical demands.
