About the role

Silvus is seeking a Quality Control Inspector-I who will report to the Quality Control Inspection Supervisor on the OQC team.
Primary responsibilities will include conducting thorough inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring proper procedures are followed for incoming electronic and mechanical parts and during the manufacturing and testing process.
This role is also responsible for investigating any quality issues, anomalies, or failures and will work alongside engineering and suppliers to recommend any necessary changes or improvements.

Perform and document inspections of products and processes, including electronic cables, GPS devices, Wi-Fi dongles, connectors, mechanical enclosures, shields, and other critical components.
Maintain Quality documentation.
Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.

Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
NOTE - As a US Federal Contractor, Silvus Technologies requires that ALL candidates being considered for employment for any position (regardless of level) MUST be a U.S. Person (permanent resident or citizen).
Stricter U.S. Citizen ONLY requirements (needed for some Engineering or R&D roles) will be included in the Required Qualifications section of the posted position.

IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (current or previously held) is highly preferred.
Familiarity with electronic assemblies, PCBs, cable assemblies, and electro-mechanical systems is a plus.
Prior experience in manufacturing, quality inspection, assembly, or production environments is preferred
experience with inspection tools such as calipers, microscopes, multimeters, or magnification devices is a plus.

Ability to identify workmanship defects, cosmetic issues, and nonconforming conditions within electronic assemblies is preferred.
Interest or passion for electronics, technology, aerospace, defense, or related technical industries.
Ability to quickly learn technical processes, inspection criteria, and company procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional production and quality teams.
Demonstrates a proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Basic understanding of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) awareness and handling practices is a plus.
Experience reading or interpreting assembly drawings, work instructions, or basic technical documentation is preferred.
