About the role

As a Fraud Analyst specializing in Peer-to-Peer (P2P) and Cash Advance products, you will be on the front lines of protecting Sezzle and our customers from financial loss and malicious activity.
You will leverage data analytics, investigation tools, and industry knowledge to identify, mitigate, and prevent complex fraud schemes, including Account Takeover (ATO), friendly fraud, synthetic identities, and social engineering scams.
The ideal candidate is naturally curious, highly analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where fraud trends evolve rapidly.

Reporting: Create and maintain dashboards tracking key fraud metrics (e.g., false positive rates, fraud loss rates, operational SLAs) and report findings to leadership.

4 years of experience in fraud investigations, risk management, or trust & safety, specifically within fintech, banking, or the payments industry.
A strong analytical mindset with the ability to make high-quality, high-velocity decisions under pressure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex fraud patterns to non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with modern fraud prevention tools and identity verification vendors.

Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of P2P payment networks (e.g., Zelle, Venmo, CashApp, ACH) and short-term credit/cash advance products.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis using SQL and Python.
