About the role

Ensures treated water meets the Water District, County and State water quality standards.
Conducts daily rounds and inspections at the Water Treatment Plant.

Monitor, maintain, and operate Water Treatment Plant processes and equipment.
Performs general cleaning and maintenance tasks at the Water Treatment Plant.
Leads and trains lower level employees in maintenance and operation of the Water Treatment Plant equipment.
Supports the City's policies, goals and objectives and work with management and other staff to ethically achieve such goals and objectives; ensure compliance with safety procedures.

Possession of a valid Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade 3 or Grade 4 certification. Must have a valid CDL Hazwoper 40hr Certification Respirator certification Must possess a Water Distribution System and a Water Treatment Operator Grade 3 certification from the State of Arizona Methods, equipment, materials, tools, and standard practices for the operation and maintenance of a water treatment facility methods of water sampling and laboratory testing of potable water, including but not limited to, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection water treatment facility emergency procedures and safety practices in the operation of electrical and mechanical equipment OSHA Performance of mathematical calculations, preparation of daily logs and maintenance of system performance records
operation of a motor vehicle, power equipment, hand tools, respirators, manual and automated valves, pumps, and control systems
