About the role
- Company Description FuseFX is an award-winning Visual Effects Studio providing visual effects services for episodic television, feature films, commercials, virtual productions, and VR.
- Our flagship studio is in Los Angeles, CA, with locations in New York City, Vancouver, BC., and Atlanta.
- Our Montreal, Toronto, and Bogota studios are serviced by FOLKS VFX, who joined FuseFX in 2020.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the LA from the management team to entry-level employees
- Partner with department heads on change management and organizational development efforts
- Manage employee relations including meeting with employees, managing investigations, and ensuring all issues are resolved in a professional and timely manner
- Oversee and manage the east coast VFX Recruiter while maintaining strong relationships with prospective VFX talent
- Maintain constant communication with production management, department managers, and supervisors to understand immediate and future hiring requirements and priorities
- Partner with the VFX Recruiter to drive university relations and ensure FuseFX has an ongoing relationship with top relevant college programs for upcoming apprentice programs
- Develop a strategic approach to talent retention by partnering with Department Heads on career pathing and development of recognition/rewards programs
- Spearhead and implement culture initiatives for both offices
- Ability to build strong trusted relationships with all organizational levels
- Ability to always maintain confidentially
Requirements
- Assist global HR team in special projects as required
Nice to have
- Minimum of 4 years of human resources generalist experience preferably supporting creative/entertainment employee groups
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, HR, Business Administration or other related discipline preferred
- Experience working in a start-up environment
- Strong business acumen with the ability to pivot and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent prioritization and organizational skills with ability to cope under pressure
- People management experience is strongly preferred
- Experience or knowledge within postproduction/VFX is highly desired
