About the role

The Fire Deputy Chief will be responsible for being the "on-location" subject matter expert for the fire department.
This position requires a team player who has excellent communications skills and can work with both internal and external departments.
He or she will assist EB Facilities and other departments with plans development and plans review for local, state and federal compliance.

He or she should have a thorough knowledge of OSHA requirements, best practices and code compliance for fire alarm and fire protection systems, have KSA's to perform life safety inspections.
Provide for the overall safety of EB personnel through the establishment and maintenance of effective policy, procedures, training and operational practices that support safe and effective manner.
Performs fire extinguisher and life safety inspections.
Prepare reports or other documents.
Perform all additional duties as assigned.

Proficient knowledge of computers and applicable computer software applications, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
The Deputy Fire Chief will be required to attend meetings, provide guidance, and be a liaison to support the facility during the construction phase through completion.
He or she may be required to establish incident command when needed, be a liaison as an integral participant of the unified command team representing Electric Boat.

Pro-Board (or) IFSAC Fire Inspector I & II certifications Certified by the State of Connecticut as Fire Marshal under the provisions of Section 29-45a of the Connecticut General Statues.
