About the role

  • This role is open to remote or hybrid candidates (East Coast preference), with hybrid being central to our New York, NY or Charlotte area offices.
  • You'll architect solutions to complex, cross-team challenges, ensuring every technology decision directly advances Bankrate's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with product and business stakeholders to align technical direction with measurable outcomes and company goals.
  • Explore and evaluate emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to leverage new tools, frameworks, or paradigms that create business value.
  • Lead technical design, planning, and execution for large-scale initiatives that span multiple systems in their product domains.
  • Define and deliver technical stories that improve the integrity, performance, and long-term sustainability of shared systems.
  • Mentor and develop engineers through design reviews, pair programming, and technical coaching.
  • Champion consistency in design patterns, operational excellence, and engineering best practices across teams.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated advanced expertise in multiple software engineering disciplines and ability to apply that expertise to solve complex, cross-domain problems.
  • Proven record of architecting and delivering scalable, resilient systems that align with long-term business and product strategy.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas, influence decisions, and align diverse stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time hours.

Compensation

  • Total Cash Compensation Range: $130,000 - $210,000 per year
  • New York City Total Cash Compensation Range: $162,500 - $262,500 per year
  • Actual compensation varies based on location, experience, and qualifications.
