About the role

  • We are open to considering candidates at Research Associate I or II level.
  • Primary human/mouse cell preparation and culture
  • Development and optimization of assays aimed at cell isolation and cell analysis, including cell separation, immunofluorescence staining and cell function.

Responsibilities

  • BioLegend is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team to develop reagents for immunological assays.
  • This person will have opportunities to independently drive research projects from conception to completion, requiring interaction with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Maintain facilities, lab equipment, and supplies as needed

Requirements

  • BS Degree in a Life Sciences related area.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience working in a lab environment in academia or industry.
  • 1 year of hands-on experience in tissue culture of primary cells and cell lines.
  • 1 year of hands-on experience with flow cytometry and immunology experiments
  • The successful candidate must be a self-motivated, team player, able to communicate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team and must possess excellent organization skills.
  • Take on other projects or responsibilities as required

Nice to have

  • 6+ months of working experience with magnetic cell-separation assays from primary cell sample
  • Experience with human and mouse primary cell preparation, tissue culture, and immunofluorescence staining.
  • Professional experience with flow cytometry.
  • Experience using FlowJo and/or FCS express is desired
  • Experience using BD's Canto II or similar flow cytometers is a plus
  • Experience in cell-based assays e.g. cell activation, proliferation and differentiation, etc.

Compensation

  • The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

  • Identify and implement new assay technologies that have an impact on assay throughput and/or performance
  • Independently analyze flow cytometry data using FlowJo and/or FCS express
