About the role

  • The role of a a Data Manger at AFSOC is focused on implementing enterprise and domain specific data management policies and maintaining the quality of the data within their scope of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • A Data Manager develops and governs data-oriented systems designed to meet the needs of an organization or team in a specific function or domain.
  • The Data Manager will perform the following duties:
  • Recommend and nominate data initiatives and data requirements that can support the mission objectives
  • Identify and define analytics efforts to support mission objectives
  • Implement transformation or curation processes
  • Implement user authorizations, access controls, and update permissions
  • Direct and manage data interoperability and integration
  • Update, maintain, and refresh data, as needed (e.g., DBA)
  • Develop, manage, operate, and maintain API/services with appropriate security /access controls (e.g., ICAM)

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of hands-on data experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or Business Administration
  • Experience providing services similar in required tasks, scope, and complexity.
  • A Secret Clearance is required.
  • The work in this role has a direct impact on the AFSOC mission as it improves the command's ability to make data driven decisions.

Nice to have

  • A Certified Data Management Professional certification.
  • Experience establishing structure-particularly around workflow organization, communication processes, and role clarity.
  • Technical Program/Project Manager or Product Manager experience
  • A Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility is preferred.
