About the role
- This role defines and executes commercialization strategies for new products and technologies, aligning market insights with innovation, customer needs, and operational capabilities.
- The position plays a critical role in shaping market positioning, guiding strategic investments, and ensuring sustained revenue growth.
- It also influences enterprise decision-making through data-driven insights, competitive intelligence, and industry engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long-term market development and commercialization strategies aligned with growth, profitability, and strategic objectives
- Lead new product and technology commercialization from concept through launch, translating customer and market needs into differentiated value propositions
- Drive revenue growth through market segmentation, pricing strategies, and expansion into new markets, channels, and partnerships
- Develop business cases and evaluate strategic investments, including partnerships, capital projects, and expansion initiatives, while aligning cross-functional teams and resources
- The Vice President, Market and Business Development drives strategic growth by identifying high-value market opportunities and leading long-term development initiatives for the Advanced Materials business.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with customers, industry partners, and key stakeholders to identify and convert unmet needs into business opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, materials, mechanical) or a related technical or business field
- Minimum of 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial, sales, marketing, or business development roles within advanced materials, specialty chemicals, industrial manufacturing, or related industries
- Demonstrated track record of delivering significant revenue growth through new market entry, market expansion, and new product commercialization
- Proven financial acumen with accountability for revenue growth, profitability, and margin performance, including experience contributing to or managing P&L outcomes
- Fluency in AI strategies and supporting technologies, with the ability to apply data-driven insights to inform market and business decisions
Nice to have
- MBA or advanced degree in business, leadership, or a related discipline
- Experience commercializing advanced or disruptive materials technologies into new or adjacent markets
- Direct experience in relevant end markets such as energy storage, electronics, construction materials, industrial applications, or extractive industries
- Global commercial experience and familiarity with market dynamics, regulatory environments, and growth opportunities across key regions
